kurt cobain was trans
- well, maybe. kurt cobain is a lot of things. one important thing to note is that he is dead. we can only speculate on what was not concretely shared by kurt himself. kurt wished he were gay. (courtney apparently encouraged him to sleep with michael stipe, but who can confirm! idek the source on this one.) he was disgusted by cis men. obviously he was friends with a lot of cis men, too. we contain multitudes! as a trans person i'd be elated to hear confirmation that kurt was trans. but can we ever know for sure? meanwhile, can we confirm anyone is cis either? trans until proven otherwise.
nirvana was a sad man who needed conforting
- no one else but me remembers this tumblr post. however, here's my point: people have always and continue to put kurt cobain on a pedestal. it's kind of a rite of passage to idolize kurt. the more i've read on the grunge scene and kurt's circle of friends, and, well, since becoming and quickly bypassing the age of 27 myself, i've realized that kurt was just a guy. kurt was a young person addicted to drugs. he had interesting thoughts for sure, and made music that i enjoy, and wrote lyrics that resonate and make me laugh. but he wasn't unusual. he was a regular person. tbf i also don't think fame is natural or good. everyone's lives include joys and fuck-ups, neither of which should be put under a gd microscope in the way fame culture dictates.
gravitating gnome
- another great tumblr post lost to time. misheard lyrics to "sliver" ("grandma take me home").
